Digital controls seem to be almost equal to a film size increase in some
respects.

I'm finding that the dslr is so easy (and fun) to shoot hand held and the
color is so inviting, that it's going to take considerably more discipline
to use the tripod and visualize in B&W when using these new tools.  (If this
sounds like a confession of a B&W shooter who's trying to resist the
addiction of the dslr -- it is.  I may need a "dslr 12-step program.")
