Re: Preventing Cleaning Cycle in Epsons

2006-08-10 by Doug Fisher

>>Was there a post a few months ago about preventing the cleaning cycle from
starting either when changing a single cart e.g. Photo black to Eboni, or
when turning the printer on?<<

This isn't the same as actually changing to a different cart, but may still
be worth mentioning. On my 2400, I have had a crabby magenta cart and
wanted to take it out for examination and then reseat it without going
through a recharging cycle. I started a nozzle check and then stopped power
via the power cord (not the button!) just as the head was on a stroke to
move back to the home position. The head moved back to the point where I
could access the carts. I was able to take out the cart, reinsert it and
then repower the printer without enduring a recharging or cleaning cycle.
This may not work if you were to actually change to another cart since the
printer would probably notice the different cart chips.
