I have my printer on top of a desk, with very little space (about 4 inches) behind the printer.   
But I have more than suficient space above the printer.  Using the "paper guide," for the 13 x 
19 paper,  I have had only the problems that I described in my previous post.

However, I have had a heck of a time using letter size paper.  Some how it seems to cause the 
printer to jam and I have to insert the paper (HRag) over and over again, until it catches.

I believe, Clayton uses smaller sizes paper for his testing.  Maybe he can respond to your 
question on using smaller size papers with the "manual - roll" setting."
