Kevin, The standard readouts from densitometers and spectrophotometers are density or Lab lightness readings. I don't know how Clayton's ratings compare. My 1.60 density cut-off point (must be more than 1.6 or less than Lab L=18) is what I determined I'd use as a filter to cut through the huge number of papers. Others may really like the look of papers with less than this, but as much for time savings as aesthetic reasons, I apply the 1.6 filter to eliminate papers from my consideration.
