New Member Seeking Advice

Hello All

For several years, I have been using an Epson 2200, almost entirely
for color work. I just purchased an R2400 (not even out of the box
yet!).

So, I'm wondering what would be the best route (or routes) for B&W
work. Would I be better off (both from the standpoint of print
quality and workflow simplification) converting the 2200 to a
dedicated B&W device (and, if so, using what inks and
papers...realizing that it's partly a subjective decision) or should
I use the R2400 for both color and monochrome work (again, input as
to media would be appreciated) and finding the 2200 a new home?

For the record, my monochrome work in silver is almost exclusively
cool-neutral tones on matte-dried glossy FB paper, and that would be
the desired "feel" from digital output. I'll be using a combination
of scanned film and digital access. Print quality would be the first
consideration, but followed quite closely by archival issues.

I know this is really an open-ended question (which may cause cyber-
fistfights) but any thoughts would be most appreciated. Conflicting
views are most welcome. I'm after suggestions, not final answers.

Peace,

Karissa

PS: The 2200 has not had a lot of use (though there's no clogging or
anything) so it still should have some useful life.
