If you want something lighter than black, the Staedtler Marsmatic 700
can be filled with one of the light gray inks.  I'm using one and it
works really well.  It has a .3mm tip which seems just right.  I like
the signature to be more discreet, black ink seems too bold.

These pens come in sets of 4 with normal cost around $60, but eBay has
many vendors handling closeout merchandise and the sets are regularly
available for around $15.
