The UT7 or new (hopefully soon to be out of beta) 3D inks (no sepia) run in the 4000. I think the 4800 may have a significantly better dmax when used with the Epson driver, but it does not allow the dual black inks of the 4000. The UT-3D should also run in the 4800. (The UT7 or 3D print on either matte or glossy without the need for PK to be installed.) I dont have either the 4000 or 4800, so I can only judge based on the sample test strips Ive seen from others. I am considering purchasing either one of these two printers. Basically I want the same quality as i am getting with my 1290 with UT2 MIS inks but want to be able to produce prints 20" x 16" thus i need an upgrade. The 4000 seems cheaper if you can find one by around £400 which i would prefer, but is the 4800 that much better? Like i said i only need it for black and white and would convert it instantly to MIS UT2 inks if i choose either one. Any advice would apprciated. many thanks [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
