Digital BW, The Print

After seeing some gorgeous prints made by the MIS inks, I decided to
purchase an Epson 1280 and the inks. I started out with the UT2 inks
and the Eboni black. I purchased the Hahnemuhle photo rag. I already
owned PhotoShop C2

I was very disapointed with the initial results. I tried the curves,
but the pictures looked too solarized. I tried the epson sliders, and
it looked better but still flat. I spent lots of time and a cartridge
trying to get a nice, sharp print.

Then all of a sudden the blacks started being too black, too dark, no
detail at all. Now I am just trying to get back where I was. 

Any thoughts? Help would be much appreciated.
