Any older printer like that can use the R2 inkset, I believe.  So, it is, in
fact, an option.  It would probably be far more rugged than, for example, a
1280.

On the other hand, I'm not sure how much support is warranted for an out of
production 13" printer that sells used for more than a new 1280.  See

I'm more likely to support the in-production, cheaper 1280.
