What about the 5500? Paul?

What about the 5500? Paul?

For a new B&W platform? A used 5500 can be had for less than $500, originally selling for $3,500 which is why it never sold.

That would be a good, rugged, variable dot printer to do 13" papers and is built to do pigments from the ground up.

Otherwise it's $1,000 for a used 4000.

Any older printer like that can use the R2 inkset, I believe. So, it is, in
fact, an option. It would probably be far more rugged than, for example, a
1280.

On the other hand, I'm not sure how much support is warranted for an out of
production 13" printer that sells used for more than a new 1280. See
Epson's price and rebate offer

I'm more likely to support the in-production, cheaper 1280.

220 "Service required" re-set

2006-09-09 by Paul Roark

I just received the message that precedes the printer shutting down.

Has anyone found whether there is a combination of buttons that resets the
counter?

I suppose the Russian utility can do it, but I prefer buttons over more
software in the computer.
