i found the thick paper setting. thanks. worse than finding dialup settings in xp :) the stiffness yes, that could be part of the equation when dealing with thicker papers, they can be more stiff also. i think i'm going to use the manual - roll feeder from now on and also avoid the "photo" setting. as i've seen a couple of references to banding now with the r2400 on lower settings (one just now in this digest!). --------------------------------- Get your own web address for just $1.99/1st yr.
