RE: [Digital BW] Re: OT_ RAW Conversion (Off list if you like)

T, I figured out what was meant by ACR after I saw it in context and playing
the acronym game. I just click on my raw files and didn't pay attention to
what plug in name it might have within PS CS.

Eric,

ACR is Adobe Camera Raw, the raw converter built into Adobe Photoshop. I am
not familiar with the workings of the DNG files, I only deal with NEF
files.. When I purchased a new camera (Nikon for me), I go to the Adobe
website and download the new camera raw plug-in. Instructions for
installation are on the Adobe website. Depending on your camera model you
may need PS CS2 in order to get the correct plug-in. Don't blame Adobe,
blame the camera makers. Adobe does a rather good job in keeping pace with
the Raw changes. Another choice is to get a stand alone raw converter.

I must show my ignorance here, What is ACR? The DNG files are still not
being opened by PS CS. I get an error message about the file format.
