Digital BW, The Print

I've tried to use the procedure to make an .icc correction, but I
can't control my Microtek ScanMaker4 well enough to apply the proper
correction. I can do that in Photoshop with Curves and apply it to the
scanner's output, wouldn't that have the same effect for the purpose
of making the profile with Roy Harrington's "Create ICC" program?
