Anyone noticed this effect before? I have three printers one a C86 with a combination of ENZ and EZW in it, an R220 with UT3D in it, and an R800 with Epson colour inks in it. Now I have noticed that the colour balance drifts when the inks are getting low. In particular the C86 (with CMK having EZN in it and the Y being EZW, which gives a nice slightly warm grey) goes rather green when the inks are running low. A fill up seems to cure the problem. The inks do get used at different rates, and this may be a contributory factor. In the B&W printers the colour shift is not really a problem its usually just an indicator that its time to fill up. However in the R800 with costly Epson inks, it is a real pain. This is where I discovered the effect. I bit the bullet and replaced all the carts and got back to the colour balance I was at before. Perhaps its time to get some MIS bulk colour for this the R800! Hopefully this might help someone who is having colour shift problems, if its true! All I have is my own evidence. Anyway thanks in advance for any replies.
