Best, Walt It's the paper choices that matter. As you mentioned, VFA and SFA are really great papers. I'm not a HPR fan really... I use a lot of Inkpress warm and cool tone Photo Rag. When you are printing files that go back....mine start in 1963... you have a wide variety of print quality for both wet and digital darkroom work. Remember when we were looking for papers that would give a negative more oomph... or less? It's the same with digital. I am fortunate to be able to afford as many printers as I can fit in my den (those Soc. Security checks come in handy), so in addition to those mentioned, I am running a 7600 (Atkinson profiles with PK) and a 7500 for MK color. They all give you a different look, and enable you to bring out the best in an image with the paper that best fits what you're after. I'm looking forward to split tone printing when I get the 2200 up and running. I think you would do better to keep your 4800 as K 3 and pick up a used 4000 or 2200 for NK 7. My 2 cents. PS. Try the Inkpress. Richard (Brooklyn) [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
