Hi Francis, I also have vertical banding with my HP 9800. Don't know what causes it. I called the HP rep, and she said it was the paper batch. which I don't believe, because the banding showed also with Ilford paper. Black only is easy. Just add 4-5% of gaussian noise to the image to make sure the transitions are smooth and print with the option to use black/gray cart with the black cart installed. Some carts I've used showed some horizontal banding, and it's not like clogged nozzels, but a 1 cm wide lighter area across the print few cm's from the rear edge of a super-B print. The last black cart I have shows this. The A4 prints are great, but can't print bigger prints, because of this banding. But I've printed some great super-B prints with other carts, so it is a hit and miss to get a good cart to print BO. Hope this helps, best -matti tim4peace2001 kirjoitti: > Hello.
