Re: [Digital BW] should I wait --or buy

I'm in the same boat Diane. I recently converted my 1270 to MIS VM hextones
and now need another printer for color. There were some 1280s in stock,
briefly, about a week ago at Buycom and PC Connection, but now I can't find
any. I'll probably wait until after PMA next month before I make a
decision. In the meantime, I'm happily printing beautiful B&W with the VM
inks.

Subject: [Digital BW] should I wait --or buy

I've been using an Epson 875 and 780. I have found a factory refurb 1280
for a good price and trying to decide whether I should wait for
announcements (1280's are OS almost everywhere--and it is that time of year)
or bite the bullet and buy this one. I'm planning on making one a dedicated
b/w printer--not sure if this will be the 875 or the 1280. But--since I
would imagine almost everyone on this list is an owner of at least one
Epson---what would you do??--Buy now---or wait. I keep trying to decide
what could be announced--the 1280 is so terrific now--maybe smaller
droplets? Anything else??
