I'm struggling with the same difficulties. My R220 has performed flawlesly for 8 months with EZ B&W continous flow with auto reset chips. One day 2 carts are not recognized. Did all the VooDoo in all the proper sequence and still not recognized. Swapped in the original unopened carts that came with the printer and it worked for a while then the same "carts not recognized" message. Epson wanted me to go out and buy all new carts and see if it happened again. That would cost more than replacing the printer! MIS is sending some replacement chips under waranty.
