The simplest substitution that doesn't require separate RIP software
to manage is replacing the Yellow with a pure carbon ink (which is
naturally warm) of same density.  Paul Roark recommends one of the MIS
inks because it gives the best results.  This can be used with the
Epson driver's ABW mode, although the color tone settings will be
different.  The main advantage for doing this is to remove the Yellow
ink, which is the least lightfast.  Article #9 at the link below has a
simple workflow for using the 2400 in ABW mode.

Going further, MIS sells a complete substitute ink set which they call
"K4".  It's main advantage is it can be purchased in bulk and put into
refillable cartridges, thus saving lots of $.  The Yellow ink swap can
be done with that set too.

Beyond that, some people are driving the 2400 with a RIP and using all
manner of ink formulas.
