I start to use UT-3d with my 2100 about 3 months ago. Before I used an 1160 with a set of UT-FSN with piezo plug-in. The results are very nice prints, with a more three-dimensional effect respect the previous system. Still today I used only HPR but now I want to try some different papers. I need the Epson archival matte for economical test prints and want to try with a semi gloss paper. If I have understand the better way is to prepare profile by myself, so the profile with consider the exact printer/paper couple. I see the Paul instructions but probably I haven't understood everything... 1 - I can use a curve to linearizing a print ramp from black to white (using a good scanner or a densitometer/ spectro). But how can I control the tone of my print? 2 - which difference if I use only the L value or all the L+a+b value? 3 - with the new printfix pro 2.0 is possible to create profile directly also for a UT-3D set? Is a good solution or I can do better with QTR create ICC ? 4 - the printfix pro 2.0 will work also with the old printfix or only with the printfix pro? Marco - Italy PS: sorry if my english is not so good.
