I still haven't done it but will be doing it if Cone doesn't get me my NK6 carts by Jan 3rd: This time I go shareware style as normal business seems not to work. So you all get the full details and I wouldn't mind to receive empty 10000CF carts in return from all over the world. I will tell the postman it may get busy soon. I use the MIS resetter on empty 10000CF carts with the Epson chips. So I have to reset them when refilled. At 450 ml content per cart used I do not see that as a problem. Back to the valves. You cut the 10000 bag off that grey valve part ? Take your best glasses, and look for the hole at the inside (bag side) of that grey valve part. On the 9600 carts it is a simple hole, no obstruction. On the 10000 carts there's a small milky white plate at two points welded with a small hole in the middle. Beneath that plate is a very small PET disc of maybe 2-3 mm wide and 0.1 mm thick. If you remove both then ink can flow in without problems like with the 9600 carts. That's easy when the cart is taken apart, the pressure membrane is cut to pieces and the bag is removed with the knife. To assemble that again in good order without leaking is something you better avoid. So you need to remove that valve from the outside. There's a polyethylene cap over the valve part at the outside that has to be removed first. I have used 3 paperclips to make a kind of round Neptunes fork with three hooks at the inside that slip over the cap and hook at three sides behind the cap. There are 3 plastic hooks inside the cap that hold it and by using the custom gear you should be able to get the cap off. Work on a clean table as there will be other parts getting out of the spring valve construction inside. Remove the rest of the valve parts. First you could try this out on 9600 carts to get the skill (if you have more of them). Next step:Take a very small screwdriver with a blade that's less than 2 by 1 mm and a shaft of 1.5 mm diameter and effective length of 1.5"- 37 mm. Stick it gently into the hole where the valve spring was, you will feel a bridge construction within that supports the spring inside. That bridge construction is a star form with 3 legs or just one bar across, 3 or 2 holes in between along the side of the cylinder you are in (it's about a year ago I have done this). So steer the screwdriver into one hole and it will find the obstruction of the extra backflow valve + plate of the 10000 cart. Push the shaft completely inside so the weld at one side will break, find the other hole(s) to break the other weld. The small disc and plate will fall into the inkbag but will not block the inkflow in and out anymore. Too thick a screwdriver and you will break the support of the valve spring and you lost a cart, too little force and the small valve will still function or the flow will be limited both ways. Reassemble the cart again in the right order. It can be filled and reset. I do hope you emptied it before you started the operation. I could write how you can exchange the ink in a good and cheap way, I could write how you can change between gloss and matte black in the same way. That has to wait till the postman rings (twice?).
