I do it as a precaution because the prints can be damaged by scuffing,
etc.  The back sides of some papers are not very smooth.

There are acid free print storage boxes with drop down side that are
relatively inexpensive (compared to presentation boxes).  They are
usually made of a thick board with metal corner supports. I've used
these for years and they hold up well.
