David; The paper in question was not FAP, but Premier's Platinum Luster Rag which mau behave very differently-it certainly prints differently, the best Dmax I got out of it was 2.03. The printer has a very elaborate platen adjustment procedure, and the problem may go away once the gap (and pressure on the paper) is adjusted properly. Don't panic yet.
