I just printed out a couple of B&W's on my newly purchased R220 along with the MIS UT-R2 neutral inkset. The nozzle check test patterns are all good. The problem I am seeing is that the printouts appear very gainy (very small dots with no ink) The prints were also of different files, so I do not think it was anything to do with the files themselves. I then took the same files and converted to grayscale, and made the same prints on my R320 in BO. The color is much warmer of coarse but there is no sign of this grain/ speckled areas!! I am currently using Epson Enhanced Matte with the Eboni black. CS2 being used, here are my settings: Color: 1. monitor profile RGB, 2. SWOP v2 for CMYK 3. Gray Gamma 2.2 4. Dot Gain 20% for Spot Image Resolution of 360ppi Softproof on simulating QTR-R220_EHM_MHW_G22_std_cc-o (this is also the same icc I am using as my printer profile) Photoshop determine colors followed by printer profile as above stated Epson driver set to off no color management & have tried with Gamma 2.2 using the epson driver as the backend With so many of you pleased with the output from this setup I have to be doing something wrong or have a setting incorrect. Should I load the PK cartridge and give it a try on some Kirkland gloss? I have tried to follow P.Roark's settings as outlined for the UT-R2 set but, am not sure if I have done this correctly. I hope someone understands what the image quality problem I am discribing is or has encountered. I appreciate any and all assistance. Happy Holidays to all!!
