Hello Eddie, >Isn't it also true that the printer also uses a tiny bit of yellow >(or some other color and not just the K, LK, LLK)? I can't say for certain about yellow. Steve Karafyllakis just got a 3800 and made a PK "Black" print (a step wedge with ramp) on glossy paper which I have here and am examining with a 6x loupe. It's definitely not a BO print. I can see what looks like 3 different shades of black and gray: there's a crossover point at 25% where LK dots begin to come in on top of the LLK, and again at 55% where PK dots begin to overlay the LK. All I can see are gray and black dots, nothing that looks like color dots (C, LC, M or LM). However the dots are so tiny I suppose it's possible that some yellow could be in there and hard to see, but it doesn't look like it to me. I doubt that Epson would call this option "Black" and then put some color in there. Did you read this somewhere?
