Scott, I found a used 1280 on craigslist for $30. Kind of hard to beat at that price. It's been ok. With refillable cartridges, and bulk ink, it's been a pretty economical way for me to start out. One thing that I am greatly annoyed by is it's ability to print on gloss on semi-gloss. With my particular printer, I get "pizza wheel" marks that I hate. I know there are "fixes" for this, but I don't feel like taking the printer apart. It does a nice job on matte paper though. My particular printer takes a little bit of work to get going so I usually save printing until I have a few prints to make. Usually 5-10 minutes or so of running the print checks and head cleanings and some purge patterns.
