Any suggestions for a comprehensive book on inkjet black and white printing that I could purchase from Barnes and Noble booksellers? Surely someone in this august group knows which is the best book to get started. B&N sells both retail and textbooks, so the selection ought to be great. My wife and I treated outselves to a new Nikon D40 to replace our "not up to a 4-year-old's speed" point and shoot Canon. I realize I haven't shot a roll of 35mm film in over 4 years now and sentimental value is the only thing keeping me in my film Nikon gear. The D40 is really light, almost tiny, but still not horribly cramped to hold. I'm happy so far. My wife is happy with the green box auto mode and I set up some more custom settings in P mode and we just go to town. I haven't had a chance to get it out to do some landscape style shooting yet, but will soon. To cut to the chase, Ritz Cameras sent me the Nikon and in the box were 2 free printers-a R260 and a PictureMate, whoo hoo. I'd be willing to trade the PictureMate for a B&W capable printer or I may just try to sell it on eBay. I debated opening the R260, but broke down to see how it did. Very impressive in casual snapshot printing. Color prints on Office Depot's top grade glossy photo paper look really nice-good saturation, accurate color and pretty durable too. No artifacts in casual eyeballing. Anyhow, I've gotten the printing bug and a book to help get me started would be nice since I have the gift cards. If a book to get started in B&W printing isn't advised (Paul's material on the MSI inksets is great) any other suggestions?
