I use the single sheet guide and rear feeder with QTR and have had a few
problems with the printer not being able to grab the paper.  It was remedied
when I took the curl out of the paper.  I haven't seen your problem however.

What paper are you using?  You can also load thick media from the front.
Have you tried that?
