As one having similar problems, I am beginning to wonder if the hassle of 3rd party inks is really worth the results. But since I have yet to even print a test pattern I have no way of knowing. Maybe I'd have been better off just sinking $1300 on a 3800. (in my opinion the 2400 at ~60% of the price of a 3800 just doesnt seem like a very good deal). or maybe i should have been more patient and waited for the cone inks to come out for the smaller epsons (~2-3 months). That being said, i can certainly understand things not working somtimes. i just wish that they would have said on thier order page, something like "5% of the time, the chips get messed up and dont work. if you have bad luck on things like this, you may want to order a chip resetter and a few replacement chips just in case." then if i chose to ignore thier advice...shame on me. having something easy to find on thier knowledgebase would have been nice as well. I suppose i cant whine too much though...im only going to be out $70 for the ink if i decide to sell the R340 and the epson inks it came with.
