Re: Epson R340 with MIS UT-R2 Inkset Experiences

2007-01-20 by p3guru32371

This being a new printer, I had not loaded up any of the drivers. I
figured I would get to it after i had the ink thing worked out. then
a lightbulb went on above my head saying "you dummy, you could load
the drivers, and it would probably tell you which chip was bad!" so i
went ahead and did just that, and sure enough, after a few error
messages, i saw that my yellow cartridge was reporting as empty. so
now i know which one it is.

i went ahead and popped the old chip off just for fun, then re-glued
it hoping that perhaps it was just not making good contact. it still
didnt work. so i guess my next step is to buy another chip and a
resetter.

i do have a help desk ticket in with mis. has anyone had luck getting
them to pony up for a replacement chip?
