Clogging / Moving Nozzle Checks

2007-01-21 by Terry Ritz

A couple of weeks ago we had a cold snap. In Canada that means about -25 to
-30 F and very low humidity. I started having troubles with nozzle clogs on
my 2200 and wasted 1/3 of a set of inks trying to get a clean nozzle check.
I've been through the same weather a number times before over the last 3
years and have not had issues like this with OEM Epson inks. Both K7 and MIS
Pro inks were acting up.

I bought a room humidifier and things definitely improved. However, the
weather is back to -10F or so, and I'm still fighting with this. In
particular my K and K2 inks are still an issue.

The weird thing is that since this began, one nozzle check will show 2 or 3
plugged nozzles and then the next check will show different nozzles clogged.
The one which had been bad became fine by themselves.

I would appreciate any suggestions you may have!

Terry.
