Digital BW, The Print

Gary, The experience I had with Profile Maker 4.0 was several years back.
This has been one of the best changes in color management; the introduction
of lower priced tools. The probe is probably still the same for the Eye One
but packaged with a less extensive profiling software. I wouldn't be
surprised to see more HP type built in profile designs. Is there a dealer
near you where you can go try them? Or someone close by that you know that
has one? Sometimes it is a matter of how well you interface with the
equipment and software. I haven't seen any reports about the ability of the
tools to measure light better than the other.

Eric,
We must be talking about different models. The Gretag Eye One design I am
referring to is about $1000 for the the Design and $1500 for the Photo.. The
Color Vision Pro2 is around $600. I have read read info on all systems but
it is hard for me to know which one to buy. I am looking to calibrate my
monitor and create paper printer profiles and want to create a good working
system. I would hate to think I was trying to save a few dollars buying a
lesser model only to want to trade up in a year. Do you or anyone else have
recommendations on these systems?

Gary, I spent some time using Gretag Eye one and Profile Maker 4.0 at a
studio that I worked at. It produced fine results but at 4000.00, I needed
to let it slide for a while before I joined the personal control arena. I
was very happy to see the product that Color Vision was putting out and at
