Well I wasn't sure but the profiles in QTR are for the k7 inks and
the glossy papers. So I figured they had to make the profiles
somehow so I gave it a try.

Thanks Tyler. Yes, I am only using the K7 profiles in QTR for the
2200. What I meant is that it's not just one of the K7 profiles but
any of the ones I've tried. For the k7 and 2200 they are all very
similar. EEM and HPR are identical accept for K is a little more on
the HPR profile.
I sent that link of the fibaprint b/c it really showed the problem I
was seeing on some of the matte surfaces. The innova soft texture
190 looks just like that, but the 315 is more subtle.
Anyway, I cleaned the cap station pad again with windex. I also used
a thin kimwipe soaked in windex to clean the heads themsleves back
and forth gently (did that several times). I took the inks out and
gently swabbed the barbs so I could see all the small holes. Then I
put a few drops of windex on the cap station pad and parked the
heads for a few hours. I then ran three head cleanings in a row and
it seems to be much better now.
It's a bit strange b/c I printed the same wedge on the same sheet of
paper with the same inks/profile etc. before and after all this
cleaning. It's a newly purchased batch of HPR 308. When I printed it
last week the splotches were but not too bad but the blacks were
bleeding. Now, there is no bleeding and the gradient is much
smoother. I really wonder if some of the heads were inking too much.
