OK, I'll put an addendum on here as well. INSTALLATION AND SETUP--NEW R340, MIS UT-R2N cartridge inkset with both Eboni and PK cartridges. Completed the MIS UT-R2N cartridge installation after installing an external waste tank. Started with an Eboni cartridge in the black position, then followed the Epson 'Start Here; guide--printer powered up, but no computer USB connection. It choked at an error message on the printer LCD screen about non- Epson cartridges--would not advance, even with retries of "OK." I then did a power off hard reset (power out of wall socket more than one minute), tried again. Still choked. Installed Epson Software drivers, hooked up the USB printer cable. On this try, on both the LCD printer screen and the computer monitor screen, I made it to the warnings about non-Epson cartridges AND received an out-of-ink-notice for the Black on the computer screen. I powered down and Switched from the black cartridge Eboni K to PK, tried again. The setup went through this time and charged the printer. I was NOT surprised, I guess, at the amount of ink in the waste bottle, but more on that in another thread. So, the printer is up and running--I'll start testing photo papers next. Jim H.
