I've had CISes in three 1160s for years and they work without a problem. Still working even after a year of unuse. I bought a chip resetter from MediaStreet, and it has worked without problem. But I used it for refilling, not to try to squeeze the last drop of ink out of a cart, which seems to me like the risk of the guy taking big steps to save his $10 shoes and splitting his $20 pants.
