Digital BW, The Print

My C88 (which was supposed to be a C88+ but has no such designation) acts
almost identical to my old C86.  Eboni seems to run fine in it, although I
think the 220 has a better dmax on matte paper, but this is the same as
before.

Well my 2nd and last C86 died a few weeks back...I cannot get another 
one. So I got a C88+ Now my question is...can I use the Eboni MIS 
inks in it or MUST I use the Photo Black? I had superb results with 
the C86 and Eboni and Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper, so I NEVER 
bought the photo black...so is the Photo Black a requirement for the 
C88+?
