Here is that email for those interested...anyone try MIS and PFP? ------------- When we're building our own profiles, you have to start with a color target, and add the gray target as a supplement. However: You can also try the following: your mileage may vary: some people have reported success with this, using certain 3rd party inksets like some MIS: - Print the color target through the MIS inks; measure it (yes, it'll all be "gray"); and then try building a profile from that, as if it had been a color target. PFP will think about this a long time, but you may end up with something quite good. - If so, try adding the Extended Grays to the mix, printed and measured the same way. - Don't worry if PFP looks like it's frozen; it's working; it may take a few minutes to work it's way through things if you feed it all grays this way, instead of colors. ------------------------------
