Paul: I don't have a 2400 but I own a 2200 and I use refilleable cartridges from MIS (http://www.inksupply.com). My cartridges have a hole in the top (and stopper). I use a syringe to top up the cartridge. While I'm at it I refill any of the other colours that are getting low. Yes you will need a chip resetter and also a bottom fill adaptor. This last item is used to "prime" the cartridge. There are two kinds of cartridges, one with a foam filter and the other not. I have had good success with the former. The plastic stoppers are hard to get out, and quite tiny (easy to lose). You should get a syringe and needle for each colour. A long needle is better. MIS also sells cleaning cartridges and solution. There are other vendors out there too, if you wish to google. I cannot comment on the 2400 ink but I am happy with their MISPro version.
