Workshop

2007-03-09 by Paul Roark

Hi,

Please excuse this plug for the Golden Trout workshop. But it at least is a
non-profit (very) organization [501(c)(3)] that is run by volunteers. The
cost is only $395 for a full week.

The brochures have been mailed, but it appears some were not received. So,
please contact me off list if you want one and did not receive it. I've
also posted the PDF of the brochure/registration form and put a link on the
web page below.

This is a High Sierra (California Sierra Nevada) wilderness camp. So,
enjoyment of that type of experience is important. The name of the historic
old camp derives from the Golden Trout Wilderness area, in which it is
located. We are at the southern boarder of the John Muir Wilderness and one
of the very few structures that was allowed to exist in these wilderness
areas. It is a unique venue.

The B&W photo session will be July 1 - 7. There will be an experienced
naturalist there also. Wives and family are most welcomed and will be able
to hang out with the naturalist or others if (when) they get tired of all
the photo talk.

Roy Harrington is the co-leader this summer. We'll have a printer, laptop,
etc. to demo QTR and whatever else people are interested in. It is a
wilderness camp, however, with limited solar power. So, it's not going to
be focused primarily on actual printing. Most of the day is oriented to
reaching excellent shooting locations in the John Muir Wilderness. However,
we'll be able to run the electronic equipment in the afternoon and charge
batteries at night off our large storage batteries.

For some of my photos of the area and more information, see
http://www.paulroark.com/GTthumbnails.html and follow the links from that.

Since I'll be near LAX before the workshop begins, I'll be able to provide
transportation from the LAX area to camp July 1 (and back) for 5
out-of-state people.

For those who enjoy the Sierra environment and photography, this is a fun
experience and great bargain.

Hope to see some of you there this summer.

Paul
