Alan, while I don't have the experience with the variety of printers that many of the other members of this group do...we've had a great success of teaching students on the Epson 2400 printers with Red River papers...beautiful quality using the Advanced Black and White (ABW) mode on the printer for B&W prints; and using Red River's profiles for profile RGB printing from PS CS2. Red River's downloadable profiles for the 2400 are as close as you could hope for. ABW will take a bit of testing on your paper to maximize quality.
