Changing paper type affects the ink limits. Matte papers require more ink to
reach the maximum density than the glossy ones, hence the result you have
got.
Theoretically, you should be able to manually increase the ink limits for the
glossy paper somewhere in the Advanced settings of the printer driver,
however I am not sure how this could influence the colour fidelity - maybe
reprofiling would be required.
I do not know how to force windows (?) driver to use the max resolution for
matte paper.
