I tried the SSC utility last night; it would not work on my R340.

FWIW, there is a 'new' autoreset chip coming into the US for the 
latest firmware version of the R340. Timeline is indefinite, but 
should be fairly soon, I think.  I'm also going to see what I can do 
to get more information on reset codes today.  Both of these are NIB 
machines 'under warranty' except 
for the non-Epson ink usage.


I have a CIS setup in two of these machines--and I am dead in the 
water on the color machine for now. I've held up using the B&W 
machine very much until the new chips are in sight, so to speak.

Meanwhile, the B&W printing I have done meets all my expectations so 
far--thanks, Paul and Clayton.
