He is right and wrong.  Yes the dummy carts stop the other 3 slots on the
left side from pumping their tube line ink into the tank.  Only the K line
is flushed.  However, the printer uses the opportunity to do a rather
extensive cleaning cycle (not at all dissimilar from the Power Clean) and a
lot of ink from all lines is used.
