André, With the R2400 you get very good color prints, and also can use the Advanced Black and White (ABW) mode, which produces very nice B&W but uses some color. Alternatively, you could use QTR and use only the black inks but I think that in most papers the print will not be neutral. If you add some color you can get neutral prints with QTR and still avoid the yellow pigment, which is less lightfast than the other colors. ABW uses some yellow. The R2400 also produces nice B&W prints in rgb mode, provided that a good profile is used. The following sites have very good information that is available thanks to the generousity of Clinton Jones and Paul Roark, two of the experts of the group. You might find them usefull if you decide to consider the R2400. http://www.cjcom.net/digiprnarts.htm http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/2400.pdf Best wishes, Manuel --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "Andre Vallejo da Silva" <mastologia@...> wrote: > > This is a recurrent issue, but as gear is changing all the time... > > Is there a current printer, with more than two black inks (three would > be ideal)A3+ format, that can be fed with MIS pigment bulk ink and that > by using the right driver, will be able to print in color and neutral > BW(using the black and gray inks only)?
