Hi John, >A friend wants a letter-size printer...he's a very fine >darkroom guy and photographer... he needs a decent inkjet >for his B&W files and he'd like to spend under $200. >Ideas? C88 with MIS EZ, maybe refurb 220 with MIS R2 ... >How about C86? Is C88 the same machine? Better/worse/comparable? They are close. I have some posted on the C88 at http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/C86-EZ-UT-Readme.htm >Does it do good B&W with Epson pigs and standard driver? No, use MIS EZ B&W inks. Then the Epson driver works well. The neutral for 2 spots and warm in the yellow is what I recommend for the most neutral. We're rather in a transition to the 260 now. I suspect by the end of summer it'll be the entry machine of choice. But it's too early now. Paul www.PaulRoark.com
