Steve: Sorry to come in late on this, I've been away. I had the same problem with my 2200. The problem, at least in my case, was that the little white knob (or lever) holding back the print head was not releasing. It is connected to something further back that will have to be lubricated. I went gung ho and lubricated everything that looked like it might need it. In the meantime I would push down the lever when I wanted to print, and it would print. Took a while to get to that point with much blue air. No it's not terminal, and the machine is printing very nicely now with no complaints.
