Yea, the gallery I work a lot for has several of his pieces hanging up. He is an architect from Canada. The monochrome ones are done with color lightjet type technology I believe on rc color papers. They are very well done for what they are, but metamerism is evident. I can color see variations between each piece in a show. It is very obvious to me. But he has a great dynamic range. The pieces are gloss prints that are laminated and then mounted on aluminum for an almost glowing smoothness from all angles. People love them and he sells, but like you say it is a total 100% steal from Michael Kenna and I wonder why anyone would bother, other than to make money. I answered my own question.
