Then it should be taken to mean fake crappy, like really really excellent. Ah.... never mind. About Vuescan - which I own but very rarely use: Keep in mind that if you can get a high-bit scan out of it, you can do basic steps (histo etc) in Photoshop, a much more comfortable image-editing environment.
