I found the problem - OFU. I was not setting the rendering intent correctly. If I select a profile to print, the preview gets very light. If I just print the photo with no profile, the preview and the print match and are fine. I assume I need to change something in Paul's processes with CS3. In fact, I find the new interface of CS3 to be very nice. I am working with XP Home SP2 and using a 4800 to output. First eliminate the possible clogged nozzle, then look into what setting have a new or different default if any. I have printed to the 4800 using CS3, Lightroom and Qimage with a variety profiles and setting; ABW, color, and Digital Negs without a problem due to color management. I did check into the reported issue of CS3 not saving a print set up within a session. I was able to reproduce that problem but only if I printed through another app while CS3 was still open. i.e. Output through Q Image with a print set up in CS3 and not sent to the printer yet. Otherwise, CS3 remembered the "set up to print" just fine. Are these new lighter prints from both new files and legacy files?
