> From something I read on Paul Roark's site, I got the impression that > the cyan, magenta and yellow inks are all the same density in the EZ > B&W set (the only difference being the chip on the catridge for the > various color positions). Is that correct? Yes, the C, M, and Y "EZ-Warm" inks themselves are identical, as are the C, M, Y "EZ-Neutral" inks. Unfortunately MIS doesn't advertise that fact, and I learned it after getting a set of "kit" inks. FYI Here's what I've settled for my own needs with my C86: K - Eboni for matte papers, Photo Black for glossy papers (I swap cartridges). C - CMY EZ-Neutral for matte and glossy M - CMY EZ-Neutral for matte and glossy Y - CMY EZ-Warm for matte and glossy That boils down to four bottles of ink: Eboni, Photo Black, EZ-Neutral (C, M, or Y), and EZ-Warm (C, M, or Y). I swap the K position cartridge depending on matte versus glossy and leave everything else constant. Putting warm in the yellow position is recommended by Paul Roark to correct for a tendency toward coolness on matte (if I remember correctly) papers. On glossy papers, EZ-W/Yellow position gives a very slight warmth that's very pleasing, at least to my eye. Good luck. It should be lots of fun.
